Katie's Bachelorette Party

Taking a leap of faith a couple years ago led me to so many wonderful blessings. Now moving into an apartment with 5 other girls I didn't know at all, may not seem like a leap of faith to you. But to me it was. Everyone has heard the horrific tales that a girls apartment can create...so I had every right to fear. However, I couldn't of been happier with the girls I ended up living with. We all just seemed to click. We stayed together for two years at King Henry until our lives started taking us different directions. Jill and Erin went on missions...but for the most of them, marriage was coming their way. McKenzie and Holli were married August '10 and are happy newlyweds. Taylor is recently became engaged to Sky this last November. And the star of the night...Katie...is getting married in 2 WEEKS!
Katie's Bachelorette Party was a great excuse for us to get together again. Taylor and I were the ones to throw this awesome event.
We had so many ideas for this party...
We made Sherly Temples and put Rock Candy for the stirrer.
(F.Y.I. Cute idea but not the best idea: There is a chemical reaction that is caused when you put the rock candy in, so go slowly. And the soda eats away at the rock candy pretty fast making the drink have extra sugar. But it was fun to try).
Chocolate Fountain is always funTaylor was the expert chef and came up with the rest of the food:
Pita Bread and Hummus
Chips with Salsa and Guacamole
Doughnut tasting muffins with sugar on top
Roasted Garlic and Bread
The picture on the table is one of my favorites of Katie and I thought it was fitting. It says:
"Food has replaced sex in my life, and now I can't even get into my own pants."
One of are games was to think of a favorite memory of Katie and to write it down for her. Taylor came up with this rhyme in like 2 seconds:
"Write down on this paper here,
A memory you'd like to share with Katie dear.
Make it sweet or make it funny,
Even offer advice for her and her honey."
We also had a game where Katie tried to answer the same as Dex on questions about themselves. I love this game and Katie did really well.
Gifts are always so fun!
You see how different personalities react and it is awesome.
I think I had more fun with Katie's gift then she had opening it. haha. I would tell what it was, but what happens at a bachelorette party, stays at the bachelorette party.
The cute Bride-to-be with all her new gifts.
This picture shows: If you want to get married be my friend.
It has been tons of fun seeing all my friends get married and who they get married too. I am not going to lie...it sometimes sucks being the odd ball out. But as my family says, "Would you want to marry any of those guys?" No...they are great guys but they aren't right for me. And even though I can't see them get married, they will be able to see me get married. :) that makes me happy.
Kylie and Me...the only singe ones.
