A Memorial Day to Remember

Memorial Day Celebration

I was so excited when I knew I was going to be home for Memorial Day. It is one of my favorite holidays to be with my family.

I love going to the Memorial Day celebration at Green Valley Mortuary and remembering why we have this day off from our normal routine.

This year it was a family event...

...Bryan, Ashley, and the kids had donuts with Grandpa ;)

We went to visit the fountain Dad put in the mortuary about a year ago (maybe longer). Mom did a great job with the Landscaping.

Working Outside

What would Memorial Day be without working outside.

While Dad was creating mounds, Makayla and Evan were so excited about having their pictures taken.

While the grown ups were gardening, Makayla and Evan were playing in the dirt making mounds to put some pumpkin seeds in.

They got SO DIRTY...

Celebrating the Young & the Old

Caden and Dad's birthday fell on Memorial Day this year.

I LOVE THIS PICTURE!! So precious.

Caden didn't just tear into his gifts each and every one....even the cards.

I loved the days leading up to Dad and Caden's Birthday because Dad would joke with Caden on whose birthday it was going to be. Then they would get in this fight..."My birthday!" "No! My Birthday!" "NO! MY BIRTHDAY!" On and on , until Dad would say "Ok, its birthday"

Makayla was SO excited for Bumpa to open her present. It was so sweet because she picked it out all by herself. She noticed that Dad would put a rag in his pocket while cooking...so obviously he needed an apron.

Dad's faces were priceless on his birthday. He was SO confused while opening mom's gift for him. It was a great memory. haha!

Seriously Dad!! You don't like the grey patten leather shoes???

It truly was a great day! I love being surrounded by my family. There just isn't anything better.
