Oh, What a Trip!

I had a week off in between terms from school and was able to have a last minute trip home. Ashley, Caden, and Parker came with me to escape the horrible snow in Utah.
Caden was great for most of the trip out there. He watched Toy Story 2 about 7 times...No Joke!!
I packed some strawberries to snack on in the car and Caden appreciated that. He ate about half of that carton gone.
My only comment on the picture below is...
Don't worry about it...CPS has been notified.
I love Parker's face :)
The trip out there was great until we hit Tahoe. We were making amazing time and arrived in Tahoe around 7:30-8. Tahoe is about 1.5 hours from my house easily. Well we hit snow that required snow chains. Luckily my car was equipped to manage the snow without them. But with two precious kids and Ashley in the car, all of which I promised to take care of to Bryan, we ended up driving a max of 15 mph until Placerville!! The roads were horrible and I had to pee like I have never had to pee in my entire life. It took us 2.5 hours to get home and the last 15 minutes the boys lost it. Parker was hungry, but refused to drink his bottle because it wasn't made just right. And Caden was crying "My eyes hurt" from watching too much Toy Story mixed with how late it was. But we made it and it was well worth it...
We spent so much time outside and enjoying the sun. Caden constantly wanted to be outside. Do you blame him? Utah weather sucks!! One day we went to Aunt Tami's to play with all her fun toys.
But some weren't as fun...
Even though Evan was so excited to receive this awesome dragon for Christmas...Caden wished it dead. He was mortified. And at one point he brave enough to save his mother from the attack of this evil monster...which was really Tami hiding behind the wall controlling the dragon to attack Ashley. If only Caden knew...I would have an even better lead in the category of favorite Aunt. jk...it isn't a competition.

Of course it wouldn't be a proper trip home without cards.
Ashley has become quite the Rook player and it was fun playing cards again.
The trip was filled with tons fun stuff...
* Relaxing and watching TV
*Spa talks...that will never be forgotten, but never spoken of again
*Trip to the Movies- The Last Song was surprising great. I cried so hard.
*LaBou lunch date in which Caden had to be walked around the building a couple times to get control of himself.
*Evan needing to provide proof of Baby Caden steeling his toys and a nurf gun to scare, just scare, Caden away.
*Many golf cart rides.
*Swimming in the Hulbert's indoor pool while it rained outside.
*Trip to Olive Garden with Dad, Mom, Tami, Ashley, Makayla, and Me. We were all so excited because we arrived 4 minutes early to meet Dad at the restaurant but he though we were meeting at 30 minutes earlier...haha...lets just say dementia comes with age.
*The adults discovering that Evan and Caden are half way down the driveway when the house appears too quiet.
*I got to get my hair trimmed. I just love going and getting my hair done. I was so excited when I got to come home because then I didn't have to find somebody new in Utah. That scares me.
*The secret code word...Scooby Doo.
Caden had been hogging the red car for quite some time. Evan wanted a turn. Caden started to get out of the car and walked about 6 feet away...Until he saw Evan walking towards the car. Then he immediately turned back and started running. Evan's response...he threw himself on the pavement and started crying. It was sad, but extremely funny. Tami, Ashley, and I just started laughing. So we invented a code phrase, Scooby Doo. When Evan hears us scream Scooby Doo, he needed to run to the car. But Evan needed to wait until we thought Caden was far enough away from the car to go. So we were watching Caden. He would open the door, but quickly shut it as to not let Evan in. Finally he got far enough away and we all started yelling, "Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo!"Evan gets this huge grin and runs to the red car. Before Caden could catch on, Evan was safely to the target. Caden then dashes to the car and starts crying. The video below is the second mission of Scooby Doo, but still had the same effect on Caden.
Caden, from that point on, would run to the red car whenever he heard Scooby Doo. haha
*Being back home where I could talk to my mom in person, instead of over phone was awesome. We also got a pedicure together. We were planning on doing this at the same time on the same day, but in different states during my break and to talk on the phone...but in person was a lot better.
The trip back home...Awww....
Allow me to show you the contast from the trip to California....
And the trip back to Utah...
hahahaha...Words don't even come close to expressing the true fun in the car ride back. It almost led to Ashley cutting Caden's legs off and Parker losing his vocal chords. Lets just say...Ashley immediately perked up when we pulled into the apartment and Bryan could help. haha
I am so grateful I got to go home. Every time I go home, I can really take a break from all the stresses of life. I just love going home. I feel energized for my next quarter in Nursing School.

1 Term Down...5 More to Go!

Another term has come and gone from my Nursing Program. I am so excited to have it done and over with. I loved my classes, but I am now just one more step closer and have about 1000 note cards to add to my overwhelming pile.

Another One Bites the Dust...

Sister Erin Nielson is now in the MTC heading out to Spain in a couple of weeks to serve a mission. She is going to be a great missionary. Here are some pictures before she went into the MTC...
Katie and I picked her up at the SLC Airport.
Then we met up with everyone for lunch at Pizza Pie Cafe. This was Erin's choice seeing it is her last dining out experience in the United States.

27...And No One Would Know

Bry just turned 27 in March. For his birthday I took him to buy a shirt and get Red Mango.
Red Mango has become my new favorite yogurt place now. It is so good and creamy! :)

Bryan and Ashley went to Taconos for dinner. I hung out with the kids during this time. Caden was so much fun. We took several pictures like this one above where he would totally pose for the camera. Too bad his Aunt Megan isn't so good focusing because there were some cuter ones.
Parker is starting to get so big now! He is so cute the way he sits and just smiles at you. He is going to be such a sweet boy.

Neither of my brothers have a medically diagnosed handicap, but the pictures say otherwise.
Jarom was really just copying Parker's favorite position to be in.

I am astonished at the how smart kids are. Caden knows how to work my iPhone better than me. He will scroll page to page looking for the app he wants. If I get a new app...he masters it in 2 seconds. Amazed!!
Caden has also mastered the very difficult task of playing XBOX while eating Lucky Charms.
Jarom is a great uncle. He came over and helped me while Bryan and Ashley were gone.
Ashley also threw Bryan a little party. She let Bryan play these two XBOX games he has been dying to play...but Ashley wouldn't let him because him graduating Law School was more important. Seriously...what a horrible wife.
