What Have I Been Up To?

For the past six months I have been nannying for an amazing family. Monica called my up at the end of Fall last year and asked it I would like to come help her. I jumped at the opportunity. I met Monica, Dan, and the children (Andrew, Josie, and Clarabel) way back in High School. My Aunt Michelle calls me up one night and asks if I can babysit for a friend of hers. The person that was suppose to babysit fell though. I said yes, which surprised me because I can be shy when it comes to meeting new people. But for some reason I felt like I need to do it. So the story begins. I babysat for Monica all the way through high school and was now returning. She had six month twin boys I hadn't met yet: Luke and Jake. I was dieing to meet them. When I went for my first day, I just knew it was where I was suppose to be. Over the months, they have become a part of my family. I truly felt bless to have that opportunity.

Luke is on the left and Jake is on the right. They couldn't be more different in both personality and looks. I absolutely love that about them. They are now a year old and so cute. After my experience, I would love to have twins.

Andrew is the oldest of the children. He is almost eight and an extremely brilliant boy.

Josie (right) is the second oldest at age 5. She is my little firecracker. Clarabel (left) is little miss princess She is 4 years old. No need for explanation...You can just see it in the picture.

Like I said...I have had an amazing time being a part of their lives and will really miss them all.

Guess What...

1) I JUST HAD MY LAST DAY OF CLASSES TODAY.

2) MY FINAL FOR ENGLISH WILL BE A PIECE OF CAKE (HOPEFULLY).

3) MY CHEM. FINAL IS THIS THURSDAY.

4) THEN
I AM DONE WITH SUMMER SEMESTER.

I Might Be Better

I am sorry for not being as great at blogging as Ashley. I do aspire to be just like her. :) Everything is going well out here. I am working very hard in both work and school. I love working at my job and I am sure Ashley enjoys me being there too. :) I enjoy my classes right now (English 150 and Chemistry 101). I can say for myself that College is A LOT BETTER than High School. i haven't come close to falling asleep in any of my classes, so I believe I have great professors. Today is the half way mark for the Summer Term.

I am soooooooooooooooooo EXCITED!!!

I have plane tickets to go home to California for 10 days in August. It will be from Friday August 17th to Sunday August 25th.

Studying: Megan Style

While Bryan and Ashley were in Park City I decided that I was going to make studying for Chemistry FUN. I sprawled out my Grandma Phipps blanket and threw ALL of my pillows on top.

Study Break:

I took a break and talked to McKay and later to my mommy

I studied from 8:00pm to 1:00am. Luckily it payed off...I got an "A" on my first Chemistry Test.

Don't worry Bryan...I cleaned ALL of my mess up.

Movie Night: Brashley Style

Saturday June 30th

I was honored when Bryan and Ashley invited me to movie night. I was thinking that it was going to be just a marathon of movies...but OH NO...that's not it. Movie night is full of sweets and a floor covered in blankets and pillows. We started the movie night off with Breech, which I changed by explaining how boring the movie was and how I fell asleep in the movie theatre when my dad, mom, and I went to see it. The next movie was The Bone Collector. It was an intriguing movie, but at the same time you waited in suspense for something to scare you. Ashley and I covered our eyes and ducked our heads every ten minutes...but nothing ever happened. After having about five heart attacks, we watched She's the Man. Even though I have
seen it about tons of times, I never get tired of it. Feeling sick to my stomach and tired from all the energy I exerted...I headed off for bed. It was a good night sleep.

Job Training

I have had a blast traing to be a Clinician Aide (CA) at the BYU Health Center. I have learned how how to take somebody's body temperature, blood pressure, and vitals. Learning how to take the blood pressure was the hardest out of the three because I actually had to do something. For the temperature and vitals, I had the machine do all the work. I had fun learning how to take somebody's blood pressure...Ashley and Bryan might have a different opinion. The first two days I spent at the front desk. I enjoyed the front desk because a lot of babies and children were coming in for check ups. With that, I would get the opportunity to weigh them and basically check them in. I have really enjoyed the CAs at the front desk. Juan (a.k.a John) and Emily were the first to show me around and teach me the tricks of the trade. On Tuesday I met Kristine, Natalie, and Petra. I really like Natalie. She was so easy to work with and learn from. She is in the BYU Nursing Program right now, so I also was able to learn some tips from her. Kristine was the CA that made me check in a patient all by myself ...meaning...I had no one supervising me. I wasn't that comfortable yet, but I managed to get through it. I had Kristine come in and take the blood pressure again because I didn't think that I did it correctly. I wasn't that off. Wednesday and toady I have been in Urgent care (UC). Janet has been the person that I have been shadowing. She is the sweetest person and I feel like she really wants to help me succeed at this job. She has all these papers with notes on them and she is letting me have them. It was been a REALLY SLOW week, especially in UC. Come on...I had enough time to set up a blog, jk. Thanks for all your help Ashley:). I know that I made you help me redo my page. Hopefully I can keep up with it when I am in school and actually have homework I can work on.

Wow...that was interesting. I just checked in a patient and I was going over his history with him. I was reading to him the surguries that he has had. I found myself saying..."The computer is showing that you have had your Gall Bladder removed in the years ---- and ----. It just didn't sound right. I thought to my self..."you only have one Gall Bladder". I got a good laugh at it because it was the computer's fault, not mine. Janet and the patient were pretty amused too.

Tomorrow I will be in UC again, but I get to leave at lunch time. Kim said that I can't have more than 40 hours this week. I don't have ANY problem with that. :)

Life Story in a Nut Shell

I was raised in Shingle Springs, California. I am the youngest of five kids, three of which are married. My mom is one of my best friends. She has many wonderful qualities and one is patience. This comes in handy when you live with my dad. My dad is a hardworking man and is not afraid of stating his own opinion. He has a great sense of humor and with a lot of work he passed it down to his childre. Well, Josh portrays more of my mom's sense of humor or at least the way he acts. First there is Josh and his wife Ashley. They have the sweetest little named Keira. She will be one on September 9th. Tami comes next. She is married to Weston and they have two children. Makayla just turned four on June 5th. We had a huge birthday party with games, prizes, dinner, and the best part...the cake (because I made it)! Evan will be one on July 10th. He may look tough on the outside, but he is sweetheart. Bryan in the middle child, but by no means is he forgotten. He was lucky enough to score a 10 cow wife, Ashley. I know...two Ashleys? What can I say, the boys have the same idea when it comes down to the names. So when the whole family is together, there is a Jashley and a Brashley. Bryan and Ashley will have their two year anniversary in October. Jarom is out in the Boston, Massachusetts' mission right now. His hump day is sometime in the next week. I can't believe he has been out for a year already. And then there was me. I am 18 years old and starting college on Monday. I plan on graduating with a degree in Nursing. I want to work in Labor and Delivery when I graduate. I am currently living with Bryan and Ashley in their (a.k.a my dad's) apartment. For the past week I have been training to work as a Clinician Aide at the BYU Health Center. So his is my life story in a nut shell.
