Visitors!

Sister Simmon's and Kailey came out to Utah about three weeks ago. It was so much fun cetching up with some of my dear friends.

Jarom and I were so furtunate to assist Kailey is finding a Prom dress on Saturday. Even if Jarom might not want to admit it, he had fun hanging out with the girls. Not to mention, his opinion was often funny, but perfectly on target. He should forget about Law School and become a dress designer. I know Dad would appreciate and support the switch in Jarom's career. :)

After Dress Shopping we went to Carrabba's Italian Gril off of University. It was so much fun just hanging out and talking with one another.

I was also lucky to meet up with Sister Simmons, Kailey, Taylor, and one of his friends, Parker on Monday. We went to Olive Garden and I tried their Ravoli. It has know become my favorite meals to get there.

Thank you so much for coming and visiting Jarom and I. We had tons of fun.

Chalk Fight + So Much More!

According to Wikipedia this is what I went to on Saturday...

Holi, also called the Festival of Colors, is a popular Hindu spring festival observed in India, Nepal, and countries with large Hindu diaspora.The main day, Holi, also known as Dhulheti, Dhulandi or Dhulendi, is celebrated by people throwing coloured powder and coloured water at each other. Bonfires are lit the day before. The bonfires are lit in memory of the miraculous escape that young Prahlad had when Demoness Holika, sister of Hiranyakashipu, carried him into the fire. Holika was burnt but Prahlad, a staunch devotee of Lord Vishnu, escaped without any injuries due to his unshakable devotion. Holi is celebrated on the full moon day in the month of Phalugna or Falguna (Phalgun Purnima), which usually falls in the later part of February or March.

...but in my words AN EXCUSE FOR A CHALK FIGHT!!

We were all so excited, but had no idea what to expect.

We went into their temple. People were dancing and celebrating.

Step 1 to the Festival of Colors is to buy chalk...check

Step 2 is to sit and wait until they burn this demon manikin tied onto sticks in a bonfire. While doing that, you enjoy the dancing they have going on...

or in Kenzie's case...Sleep

There were a lot of people who came...aka CRAZY PACKED...and we were RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE!!

Step 3...Throw chalk on everyone and everywhere.

As you can see...we are chalked and really dirty. We drove in Katie's car which has tan cloth seats. So to help protect her seats, we brought clothes to change in. But how were we going to get cleaned up and changed when you are parked on the side of a very busy road? Solution: Bring a table cloth to hide behind.

The Festival of Colors was tons of fun. I probably with suffer long term health problems due to all the chalk I inhaled within 15 minutes, but it was worth it. Shannon, Katie, and Erin will be suffering short term effects because their hair turned PINK :).

BUT THAT WASN'T IT FOR THE DAY!!

Our ward had a get together at the local Tumbling Gym on Saturday too!! So my whole apartment went at 10:30pm. It was fun getting together with our ward. What I loved was how it was something we all planned to do because we are friends. It wasn't something the bishopric was in on when being planned or a ward activity.

I was trying to say FHV...Family Home Videos. It is a favorite in our apartment.

BUT THAT WASN'T IT FOR THE DAY!!

Next on our agenda was to make crepes and have a girls night...complete with a sleep over with all our mattresses in the Living Room.

It was deja vu from the beginning of Fall Semester. With the year coming to the end for all of us and the parting of our separate ways, we wanted to celebrate one last time!!
